The Shift to Lab-Guided IV Therapy: Prioritizing Personalized Care
Why Vitalis Wellness Center Transitioned to Lab-Guided IV Therapy
A Medical Approach to Personalized Care
Over the past few years, IV vitamin therapy has become widely available, often offered as a retail or menu-based service. While this approach may be convenient, it does not always reflect best medical practices.
At Vitalis Wellness Center, we made a deliberate decision to transition away from retail IV therapy and toward a lab-guided, medically directed IV therapy model — one that prioritizes patient safety, individualized care, and long-term health outcomes.
Why We Moved Away From Retail IV Therapy
Pre-made IV “cocktails” assume that everyone needs the same nutrients in the same amounts. In medicine, that assumption rarely holds true.
Patients vary widely in:
- Nutrient status
- Metabolic function
- Kidney and liver health
- Underlying medical conditions
Administering IV nutrients without understanding a patient’s laboratory profile may lead to unnecessary supplementation or missed deficiencies.
As a family medicine and primary care clinic, we believe IV therapy should follow the same standards as other medical treatments — evaluation first, treatment second.

The Role of Laboratory Testing in IV Therapy
Laboratory testing allows our providers to understand what is happening at the cellular level, not just based on symptoms alone.
Depending on the individual, testing may include:
- Standard medical labs (such as blood counts and metabolic panels)
- Advanced micronutrient testing
- Additional labs when clinically indicated
These results guide whether IV therapy is appropriate and, if so, which nutrients, doses, and infusion rates are medically justified.
What Lab-Guided IV Therapy Looks Like at Vitalis
Our process is intentionally structured:
- Medical evaluation with a licensed provider
- Laboratory testing tailored to the patient’s history and symptoms
- Provider review of results
- Personalized IV formulation, when indicated
- Ongoing reassessment and adjustment of care
IV therapy is not indefinite. Once deficiencies are corrected or goals are met, patients are transitioned to maintenance or oral strategies when appropriate.

Advanced Therapies Are Offered Selectively
In certain cases, advanced therapies such as NAD⁺ infusions or regenerative medicine services may be considered. These therapies are not first-line treatments and are offered only after appropriate evaluation, laboratory review, and medical determination.
All advanced therapies at Vitalis are:
- Physician-directed
- Provided with informed consent
- Offered in accordance with Florida medical regulations
- Not guaranteed treatments

What This Change Means for Returning Patients
Patients who previously received IV therapy with us may be asked to complete updated labs or a medical evaluation before continuing treatment.
This change reflects our commitment to:
- Safer care
- More precise treatment
- Better long-term outcomes
Our team is always available to guide patients through this updated process.
A Commitment to Medical Integrity
Healthcare should never be one-size-fits-all. By transitioning to a lab-guided IV therapy model, Vitalis Wellness Center is aligning IV therapy with the same principles we apply across primary care — medical necessity, personalization, and accountability.
If you’re interested in learning whether IV therapy is appropriate for you, we invite you to begin with a medical evaluation.
